Here’s How Often You Should Clean Everything in Your Home

clean everything

Tiny spiders that are naked to the human eye are clinging to your bedding and can even send you to the hospital all because you may not be cleaning according to the right schedule.

This is a disconcerting thought, but luckily it’s easy to avoid. Cleaning on a schedule keeps your house in shape, devoid of dust mites, and makes it easy to follow.

You don’t have to clean everything every day. Just follow this simple guide and rest easier.

When to Clean Everything in Your Home

Some things in your home need to be cleaned every day while others only need to be cleaned maybe two times a year, but how do you keep track of it all? There are many areas that have probably been neglected, but that doesn’t mean you need to clean them all on the same day.

Take an inventory of your household cleaning chores and make a list. This will make it easier to do a deep house cleaning without breaking your back.

Every Week

The kitchen is a good place to start, but not everything in your kitchen should be cleaned every week. Your Microwave is an exception. Depending on how much you use it, a simple vinegar cleaning is easy to do every single week and should be done that often.

Mopping the kitchen floor, and any other hard floors in your home is another chore that should be done weekly.

If you’re a pet owner, consider pet-specific cleaners for your floors and upholstery. Use these during your weekly vacuuming and mopping.

Laundry, especially towels, should be done every week. Make sure you’re also throwing in the bed sheets and pillowcases.

Every Month

You should tidy up your bathroom every week, but it doesn’t need a deep cleaning that often. Your tub, showerheads, and toilets can all be done once a month.

Going back to the kitchen, you want to clean the backsplash above the stove. Grease and food residue can build up and you’ll want to clean it before it gets out of hand.

What about those dusty ceiling fans? They can be hard to clean, but they attract dust and you should attack them once a month at least.

Every Quarter

Once every three months or so is a good time to do some deep house cleaning.

Clean out your refrigerator (expired food should be constantly addressed) by defrosting it and wiping down all surfaces. While you’re in the kitchen go ahead and clean out your oven too with a simple oven cleaner.

Your coffee maker may be ignored, but it shouldn’t be. Descaling and cleaning the coffee maker is a good way to avoid getting sick after your morning cup of joe.

It’s now time to lift up your couch, slide the dresser out of the way, and clean the areas that no one can see.

Take Care of Your House

This can all seem like a lot and if you have a large home or a busy schedule, it may be stressful to find time throughout the day to get it all done.

If you need some help, consider contacting professionals to clean everything for you.
