When was the last time you cleaned your bathroom?

Cleaning your bathroom can be overwhelming if you’re not sure where to begin, but don’t worry, we’re here to help. Keep reading our page to learn the necessary steps on how to deep clean a bathroom.

How to Deep Clean a Bathroom

An important thing to remember when you start cleaning your bathroom is that you want to clean from the higher spots and work your way down, otherwise you may end up needing to repeat some steps. This is the order we recommend taking when cleaning a bathroom.

Clear the Clutter

The first step in deep cleaning a bathroom is to clear away the clutter. If you’ve got counters and shelves full of toiletries, you’ll want to wipe them down and put them aside so you’ve got access to all of the surfaces.

If you can, try to put away any clutter in your cabinets or closet to keep your bathroom looking spacious.

Sink and Vanity

Once your sink and vanity are cleared off, start by dusting them and then wiping them down with an all-purpose cleaner. Scrub the inside of your sinks with an appropriate cleaner, or use vinegar and baking soda, and a non-abrasive scrub brush.

Once the inside of your sink is clean, polish your faucets and similar fixtures so that they really shine! If you’ve got a mirror above your sink, spray it with glass cleaner and wipe it down with something that won’t leave streaks.

Shower and Tub

When you’re cleaning a shower and tub, you’ll want a good cleaner that will take care of soap scum and water spots if possible. Start by scrubbing the outer edges with a scrub brush and work your way down and toward the drain.

Once you feel like you’ve scrubbed away all of the grime, be sure to rinse out all of the cleaner residue and dirt. Wipe down showerheads, faucets, and any other fixtures so they don’t have water spots or smudges on them.

Toilet

When it’s time to clean your toilet, start with spraying the outside with cleaner and wiping away any dust or stains that are on the surface. Next, use a toilet cleaner or sprinkle some baking soda in the bowl and thoroughly scrub the inside with a toilet brush.

Once you’ve cleaned the bowl and removed the toilet brush, spray and wipe down the seat and lid, and then let them dry before putting them back down. Don’t forget to wipe around the seat hinges and tank!

Floors

The floors are the last part of the bathroom that you should clean. Once you’ve gotten everything else sparkling, you’ll want to vacuum your bathroom floors and then mop or steam them.

If your bathroom is pretty small, you may have better luck just wiping the floors down with an all-purpose cleaner and cloth.
